Before starting therapy you will have the opportunity to speak to the therapist and discuss any questions or concerns that you may have. Initial sessions will include a detailed assessment. Then the therapist and client decide on CBT based interventions to use within therapy. These are both structured and unstructured according to protocols recommended by the NICE guidelines.
These sessions are completed by individuals who specialise in psychological and personal change. They will understand the physical and emotional strains burdening your life, and will use techniques such Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction, to help deal with problematic behaviours that you are experiencing. The sessions are always confidential, and provided at a time that fits around your schedule and needs.

Samantha Braha
My name is Samantha Braha, I am a chartered and registered Psychologist and a Cognitive Behavioural Therapist. For over 10 years I have worked for the NHS and within the Private Healthcare Sector in inpatient psychiatric hospitals. I also have experience of working with individuals in the community. I have had exposure to quick changing environments with highly emotive individuals suffering from a range of problems. Additionally, my educational career has directed me towards specialising in CBT as an effective model for therapy with clients.
Within therapy, I pride myself on using the effective and proven model of CBT. This method has been researched as the treatment of choice for a growing number of conditions, which is supported by the NICE guidelines. Additionally, being an accredited member of the BABCP and a member of the BPS I hold strongly to the principles highlighted in the Standards of Conduct, Performance and Ethics affiliated with the Practice of Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies.
Taken as a whole, I believe in self-awareness, effective communication, strong leadership and reflective practice, which I feel, are all crucial in maintaining high standards.
I am honest and approachable. I have experience in helping people who have a range of problems and have seen positive results, which have demonstrated that the skills discussed and learned, are effective and can be profoundly life changing. Overall, I have a deep-rooted understanding of how an individuals thoughts, feelings and behaviours can impact life and daily functioning.
